2016 Summer Day Camp Program

Many of you are aware of the ongoing predicament that has arisen between Bremen Youth Services and Bremen Township. Because of our non-profit work, we depend on various sources of funding to operate all of our services at our current location. Bremen Township has been a source of that funding, but soon that may no longer be the case, which would likely result in the continuation of Bremen Youth Services as an entity and mental health service-providing agency, but one that unfortunately would no longer be able to be housed at our current offices (if in existence at all). Since our current building location and property is where we have Summer Program, obviously, this puts a strain on our entire Summer Program situation and poses significant logistical challenges at this time.

At this point, our vision is to have camp. However, the chance that camp will be held at the current Bremen Youth Services property is extremely slim. For your planning purposes, you WILL be able to enroll your child(ren) in Summer Program, but that Summer Program will be held at another location than previous summers. The tentative dates we have scheduled are June 13th through July 28th. We will know more information and specifics very soon (by April) but at this point, until we know where we can hold camp, we are unable to officially begin our planning process. We hope you understand, and we thank you in advance for your patience in awaiting forthcoming details.

Please trust that Summer Program will continue to offer the highest quality program we possibly can, in whatever space we can utilize, with the most meaningful and beneficial activities that exist for us given the space and resources we may or may not have at our disposal. We would all be devastated to see such a long standing tradition cease to exist for our beloved campers as well as our dedicated staff.

In the meantime, if you are a concerned citizen and would like to assist us in our fight, we desperately need your help. Please see the Facebook page that details the ongoing situation with Bremen Township and do what you can to show your support for Bremen Youth Services. There are outlets of communication you can utilize in order to make phone calls, send emails, write letters, attend public board meetings, etc. If you have questions on who specifically to call or email, and what to say, please call Bremen Youth Services and ask for Joy, Jamie, or Don and they will gladly let you know what you can do to help us by reaching out to those who need to hear you voice your concern!!! You can also email Sandy Kukla at [email protected] .

Updated information available on our Facebook event page: Stand with BREMEN YOUTH SERVICES as they fight to keep their doors open.

Please stay tuned for further announcements regarding Summer Program 2016. As soon as we are more aware of more firm details regarding this summer, we will let you know.

With Sincere Thanks,

Summer Program 2016 Directors and Staff
